Costume Cooling Unit Instructions

Smokey Bear's - Cooling Unit

  • Smokey Bear's cooling unit is battery operated; it uses a large, silver rechargeable battery. There is a blue Makita charger for these batteries. We have three of these batteries.
  • Smokey Bear's water container should be filled with water to the fill line and frozen overnight. On the day of the event fill the container to the top fill line with cold water. Place the water container upside down in the black pouch that is attached to the tubes for the cooling units.
  • Smokey has a remote on/off switch; it is a wire with a piece of tape attached to it that can be fed through the arm for Smokey to operate [or there is a on/off switch attached to the battery unit].
* NOTE: There is also a pack that contains a blue water bottle that can be worn over the shoulder in either symbols costume. It should be filled with fresh water for the Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl costume wearer to sip. The costume wearer can press their tongue against the end of the hose to sip the water for rehydration.
