SMOKEY BEAR STORY PLAY

FOREST SERVICE SMOKEY BEAR LICENSING STRATEGY

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Strategy: To produce a wide range of products to complement the educationa1 fire prevention activities of all local, state and federal wildland fire agencies.

Goal: In accordance with the Smokey Bear Act of May 23, 1952 (16 USC 580) and the Woodsy Owl-Smokey Bear Act of June 22, 1974 (18 USC 711), the licensing program will produce items that contribute to the public information concerning the prevention of Wildfires.

Objectives:

  1. Produce items that meet fire prevention program needs
  2. Produce items that carry a specific fire prevention message
  3. Produce items that support the national advertising campaign
  4. Produce items that keep the message of Wildfire prevention before the public
