Boston Red Sox Game ~ Fenway Park; Boston, Massachusetts, August 9, 2004 Smokey to greet fans at the Boston Red Sox / Tampa Bay Baseball game on his birthday!!
Programming will include: A pre-game celebration with the fans. Northeast Forest Fire Protection Commission’s Executive Director Tom Parent, USDA FS New England National Forest’s Tom Brady, Massachusetts NFFPC Commissioner & Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Director Priscilla Geigis and Massachusetts Forest Fire Control’s Chief Fire Warden Michael Tirrell to escort Smokey out to midfield. Introductions and acknowledgement of Smokey, his birthday and his 60 Years of vigilance to be announced over Public Address system.
Graphics of Smokey and sponsoring logos to be flashed from the score board. Smokey Baseballs and WUI brochures to be handed out from a well placed booth at their Community Home Stand. A banner sporting Smokey’s 60 years of vigilance along with the Compact’s NFFPC and Massachusetts logos will be on display. After pre-game celebration, Smokey will continue to greet fans up until the 3rd inning from booth and from his well identified jeep parked and displayed out front on Yawkey Way.
